Runway Inspired Challenge - Dennis Basso

Hi everyone!

How's the weather in your part of the world?  It was warm and super sunny here in Seattle.

Today's blog post is about a card I created for the Runway Inspired Challenge.  I usually love love LOVE looking at the inspirational posts on this site because it's based on fashion.  Some how fashion and cards can go hand in hand.  I decided to participate this week because I couldn't resist designing a card based on this dress.  It's gorgeous, soft, delicate, pastel... sigh, I could go on and go about this dress.

Here's my card based on the dress:

Most of the material used on this card is from the Feb 2014 Simon Says Card Kit. I picked a lovely floral paper to replicate the pastel design of her dress and I added vellum to add some airiness to the card. I white embossed a few flowers and the sentiment "Thinking of you" from the Simon Says Stamp set also entitled "Thinking of you".  Next, I finished off the card with some blue ribbon to mimic her pale purse and a few Hero Arts pearls.  This is by far my favorite card.

Hope you have a good week.  Happy (almost) weekend!

  1. Gorgeous card Janet! I love how the vellum softens the look of the patterned paper.

  2. This is very pretty! I love that paper from sss and it was a great idea to use vellum over it and add the white embossed flowers!

  3. Adorable, especially the way you've combined the floral pattern paper with some vellum...gorgeous! Thanks for playing along with us at Runway Inspired Challenge ;-)

  4. Love the layering...your use of vellum is perfect! Thanks so much for joining us on the Runway!
